George R. Kepple, 78, of Sugarcreek Twp., entered eternity on Saturday, December 27, 2025.
Born January 27, 1947, the only child of Chancey A. and Frances E. (Rea) Kepple, his entire life was spent on Kittanning Hollow Farm which has been in the Kepple family since 1908.
He was a graduate of East Brady High School, Indiana University of PA and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He was also an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Naval Reserve. He worked in the Armstrong County District Attorney’s Office for over 40 years and in the private practice of law for 50 years. He served as the Armstrong County District Attorney from 1978 to 1998.
He was the owner-operator of Kittanning Hollow Farm where he raised grass-fed beef cattle until his passing. Kittanning Hollow Farm is a PA Century Farm and is permanently preserved under the Pennsylvania Farmland Preservation Act.
George was also a 2013 graduate of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, having attended night school for eight years during semi-retirement. Thereafter, he taught at the Penn West Academy for Ministry for ten years, which was a function of the Penn West Conference of the United Church of Christ, training lay persons for pastoral service in struggling churches. He was an active member of St. Paul’s Community Church in Sugarcreek where he served as an elder.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha (Kudelka) Kepple whom he married on June 17, 1978 and by a daughter, Krista (Eric) Ritzert of Chicora and a son, David A. (Jennifer) Kepple of Murrysville. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren: Addison, Kendall and Taylor Ritzert, Juliana, Christian and Luke Kepple.
George was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends of George R. Kepple will be received from 5:00-8:00 PM Monday, December 29, 2025 at Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. 707 Kellys Way, East Brady, PA 16028.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at St. Paul’s Community Church, 2167 State Route 268, Chicora, PA 16025 with Rev. Frank Sapp, officiating.
Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery will follow.
